Is Plymouth Church affiliated with any denomination?
Plymouth has been serving the community for over 100 years. We are a member of the Raleigh Baptist Association. However, all Baptist churches are self-governing.
What should I expect if I attend a service?
When you visit you will meet people of all ages, hear a variety of music, and be in a comfortable atmosphere where you can learn about God and strengthen your relationship with him. Some people will be dressed up and some will be dressed casual. All will be loved and accepted!
How does a person become a Christian?
It is a miracle and mystery that we can never understand while at
the same time a simple act of faith. Here are the ABC's of
becoming a Christian:
A- Admit to God that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 says that
"All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory")
B- Believe that Jesus died in your place for our sins and that God
raised him from the dead and He conquered death. (Romans 5:8
says that, "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us").
C- Commit your life to him through prayer. (Romans 10:9-10
says, "If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth
that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved"). If you believe then you
can confess it with your mouth through prayer. There is no
certain prayer to say but it does need to include the following:
Tell God that you believe in him. Tell him that you are sorry for
your sins. Ask him to forgive you and cleanse you. Ask him to
be Lord of your life. Commit to living for him. Thank him for
saving you.
If you prayed to receive Christ as your savior, the next step is to
be baptised and be a part of a local church where you can learn
and grow in this new relationship. We would love to be that
church if God leads you to come here. Please call and let us
know of your decision to accept Christ and please allow us to
assist you in any way we can.
